Tall Walker

United States

Tall Walker, a fast rising rock faction from Chicago, Illinois, was founded on relationships. After a chance meeting in 2011 between singer-songwriter Nick Bays, and multi-instrumentalist, Chris Hershman, the two became fast friends. Bays, then from Columbia, SC and Hershman would spend a hours on the phone, and long nights sitting in gas station parking lots dreaming up the idea that would become Tall Walker. After a few months of writing, Bays and Hershman brought in more... drummer, Ben Johnson to complete the band. The trio took inventory of their quickly growing repertoire, and paired down their efforts into the four most concise and effective songs. On December 13, 2013 Tall Walker released its inaugural self-titled EP. The EP was engineered and mixed by Stephen Shirk of Shirk Studios. (Alabama Shakes, The Lumineers, Ivan & Alyosha, First Aid Kit) Citing influences like early U2 and Tame Impala, as well as Fleetwood Mac and Death Cab For Cutie, the band has created an EP that walks the line of indie rock and unadulterated pop music. Tall Walker seems to have found a tasteful, high-integrity blend of sonic elegance that is well beyond its years. Already in its short tenure as a band, Tall Walker has been featured by Nikon, starred in a commercial for Chicago’s historic music venue, Metro, as well as playing several sold-out shows in the midwest. The band is currently working on their sophomore EP that will be released in early 2015.
