Drake (MD): What did you do for a living before you got involved with music?

Tamar: well, i was a freelance photographer, then i worked at a stock photography agency and then I became an Art Buyer at an advertising agency. But those are jobs i held onto for a while, I of course, did do a bunch of strange jobs before during and after…Starbucks, Telemarketing, Dog Walking, Radio station news room person, camp counselor. And actually, currently I work at the School of Rock in Portland Oregon teaching vocals and keys!

Drake (MD): When you are writing songs, what is your favorite snack?

Tamar: beer or wine


Drake (MD): What is your favorite Disney cartoon/movie? Hint: Simba!!

Tamar: Jungle Book


Drake (MD): What kind of microphone do you record on?

Tamar: oh boy, a bunch…


Drake (MD): What is your greatest attribute?

Tamar: I am a very very determined person.


Drake (MD): If you had to pick one song to sing for the rest of your life, which one would it be?

Tamar: probably a Beatles song….maybe something off Abbey Road.


Drake (MD): How would you force the music industry to help independent artists?

Tamar: hmmmm…clubs should stop using companies that book these pay to play shows. those are complete and total shams and bands should NEVER pay to play.


Drake (MD): Name one city that you would like to live in.

Tamar: Los Angeles or New York!!!


Drake (MD): What’s your middle name? If you don’t have one what would you like it to be?

Tamar: weird middle name: Tzvia


Drake (MD): Give me one word that describes your music?

Tamar: catchy


Drake (MD): If you could sit down and have dinner with 3 people dead or alive, who would it be?

Tamar: Pete Townshend, my grandfather I never met (he died in WW2), Paul McCartney


Drake (MD): Finish this sentence: Music Dealers is awesome because _____?

Tamar: it offers opportunities for song licensing/placement and doesn’t cost anything for the artist!


Drake (MD): If you could give me a nickname, what would it be?

Tamar: mr. ill

Drake (MD): Would you choose to be famous, or have a loyal fan base? You can’t choose both.

Tamar: loyal fan base

Tamar: I have a daughter named Tuesday and she just turned five. And she is the most amazing thing that’s ever happened to me! I can’t wait to see what she does with her life!
