Wow that is a hard one. My sister’s boyfriend at the time (now my Brother-In-Law) made me a copy of his cassette tape of Dave Matthews Band “Under The Table and Dreaming” and later I bought it on CD. It was that or Pink Floyd’s “The Wall”

4. Explain your sound in 3 words.

5. Craziest show / fan story.

I wouldn’t want to tell a crazy fan story just in case that fan is reading this interview. But I will tell you a great fan story. I have a fan named Chris. He has been such an amazing supporter for years now. He lives in Las Vegas and drives out to almost all of my Los Angeles area shows. That is impressive. He takes live videos and photos and posts them online, he sends me emails sharing how my lyrics have touched his life, he participates whenever I need help spreading the word about my music or a contest. He even sent me this thoughtful Birthday gift last year. Some may think this sounds “crazy”. But I totally disagree. It is people like this that help independent artists out there. They help spread the word, and let us know that what we are doing means something and that definitely keeps me going. Thank you Chris

An amazing vintage Martin acoustic guitar

15. What was your worst job you ever had?

Waitressing at the “Holden Spa”. It was a small breakfast place where I grew up. I started working there when I was 15 and my boss, Rose was pretty much evil. She made me cry on numerous occasions so I quit that place.

16. What do you think about the current music industry?

Ugh. Good and bad things. Independent musicians have much more power than they used to. There are affordable tools and outlets that enable us to make great quality music and promote it on our own. That is a good thing. But it also makes it harder because you have to get yourself so far on your own before a label can pick you up because cash flow is limited and they can’t afford to take a risk unless they know you have a hit or can make them fast money. Labels don’t develop artists anymore. Artists have to develop themselves. That can be tough to properly do without a big budget behind you that labels used to provide.
