Identifying with the Music Dealers mission of becoming the world’s leading music licensing technology platform, Kayne will provide leadership and strategy in the areas of operations, sales, and technology, while CEO Eric Sheinkop will continue leading the vision of the company, managing marketing and branding, and stay focused on large scale strategic industry partnerships.

Kayne’s experience and business acumen accelerate the company toward the goal of providing extraordinary music licensing service to the plethora of clients that count upon Music Dealers for incredible music, music licensing services, and consultation.

A New Jersey native who loves old school hip hop, we asked Kayne a few questions to help introduce him as a Music Dealer:

MD: Why did you decide to get involved with Music Dealers?

Kayne: I originally learned about Music Dealers through an entreprenurial leadership program called The Junto Institute. After meeting the founders and learning more about Music Dealers’ long term vision, I was hooked. The business model here is so exciting and refreshing for the industry as a whole. It’s an absolute privilege to be at Music Dealers and working with such a talented group of professionals.

MD: What do you hope to accomplish with the company?

Kayne: I would like to continue to move Music Dealers forward and align our teams with the long-term vision of being the number one music licensing platform. Our competitive differentiators around quality, products, platforms, and people will set us apart from the competition. I will have a constant focus on our employees, customers, artists, and long term growth.

MD: What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?

Kayne: Hands down, Paul McCartney at Wrigley. Even with 110 degree temperatures that July evening, it was amazing. Three straight hours of solo, hits, Wings, and Beatles songs that catered to all age groups in the crowd. In addition, he played a few John Lennon songs, which had never been done (live) due to restrictions by Yoko Ono.

MD: Anything else you’d like to share?

Kayne: I am ecstatic to be at Music Dealers working with such a great team, and I look forward to learning from everyone at the company. I’ll go on the record now and say that I am definitely about pushing forward, but love to work/play hard and have fun in the workplace. I believe that our culture and the company’s overall employee satisfaction are critical to our success.

The Music Dealers family is elated over Kayne’s arrival, galvanized by his passion and dedication to raising the company to new heights. With additional new hires Clay Johnson as VP of technology and David Szostak as director of marketing, these key team members represent a new era in the Music Dealers anthology and will be instrumental in shaping a fantastic future.
