Hello Summer… Finally!

And that means we have A LOT of music festivals fast approaching; Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Riot Fest, Electric Daisy Carnival, among many, many more. Each summer music festival has its own special feel, its own unique personality, and its very own precious festival goers.

Music Dealers Artists Playing During Festival Season

Over the years, Music Dealers has had the privilege of working with some great talent. Below are some of the artists who are currently a part of, or have been a part of the Music Dealers artist community, and who have worked hard over the years in order to land on the stage of one of this summer’s music festivals. Check them out!

1. Pitchfork

MD Alumni: Majical Cloudz

Not only is Canadian indie pop duo Majical Cloudz playing Pitchfork this year, they are also special guests on Lorde’s North America Tour this fall.

MD Alumni: Grimes

This Vancouver artist has been incorporating different genres and influences together since day one. Grimes is playing Pitchfork this year and will be playing Budweiser’s Made in America tour in late August.

2. Lollapalooza

MD.com Artist: HeRobust

Electronic producer HeRobust was touring with Gramatik and Pretty Lights at the end of 2013. His tracks have been used by the likes of Skrillex and Bassnectar. HeRobust will be in Chicago for a set at Lollapalooza on Friday, August 1, and you can find him a week later performing at the Squamish Valley Music Festival.

MD Alumni: Krewella

This Chicago electronic dance music trio has a packed summer schedule playing all over the world, from London, to Sweden, Las Vegas, back to Europe and eventually landing on the Lollapalooza stage on Aug. 2. 

MD Alumni: Into It. Over It.

Evan Weiss’ solo project, “Into it. Over it.”, will be supporting Owl Bands, and then Minerals throughout much of the summer. Weiss will be playing Summerfest in July, Lollapalooza in August, and will then take the stage with influential indie rock band, American Football, at their reunion show in New York this October. 

MD Alumni: Bronze Radio Return

This American indie roots/rock sextet will be playing at two of this summer’s festivals, Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. Bronze Radio Return can be heard in a number of tv spots and tv shows, but like lead singer and guitarist Chris Henderson puts it, “we are first and foremost a live band,” so be sure to check them out this summer.

3. Riot Fest

MD.com Artist: ShowYouSuck

Alternative hip-hop artist ShowYouSuck will be playing at Riot Fest this year after touring with the likes of Yelawolf. A Chicago emcee, ShowYouSuck is planning to go on an international tour at the end of 2014.

4. Bonnaroo

MD.com Artist: Desert Noises

This Utah group has drawn influences from Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac and Tame Impala and they’ve been touring relentlessly. Desert Noises will be filling this year’s Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza summer festivals with their rock beats and psychedelic rock sounds.

MD.com Artist: Big Gigantic

Big Gigantic was featured in one of Bonnaroo’s most anticipated events, the Jam session, alongside Skrillex and other guest artists. After playing Bonnaroo, they’ll be playing the Spring Awakening Music Festival in Chicago, followed by a couple of international dates in Europe, and then landing in Red Rocks Amphitheater “Rowdytown III.” Big Gigantic’s latest full-length album, “The Night Is Young” was released on February of 2014.
