The Apex-Brazil World Cup Project was designed to raise the economic profile of Brazil, stimulate the country’s exports, gain investments, and propel the commercial image of Brazil within the international market. The project was a huge success, attended by more than 2,300 buyers, investors and foreign opinion makers from 104 countries, while generating over US $6 billion in business transactions.

At the World Cup Project, Music Dealers CEO, Eric Sheinkop, was invited to speak at Encounters 2014, where Brazilian musicians were given a career changing opportunity to meet-and-greet with top music industry executives. The event allowed Sheinkop to attend a number of private performances from Brazil’s top independent artists and discuss deals with their business managers for global music licensing opportunities, which included the upcoming 2016 Summer Olympic Games. In addition to productive meetings with artists, Sheinkop engaged in one-on-one meetings with Brazilian government officials about the state and direction of the global music licensing industry.

A key workshop at Encounters 2014, developed by Brazil Music & Arts and Apex-Brazil, was “Synchronization: A New Source Of Revenue For The Music Market”, were Sheinkop, co-author of “Hit Brands: How Music Builds Value for the World’s Smartest Brands”, discussed his international music experiences. He offered expert advice on how to strengthen and develop Brazilian music platforms, programs, and initiatives for emerging artists, producers, and entrepreneurs involved with the production of Brazilian music.
