#MDSessions Presents: The Way Down Wanderers 218 words · 2 minute read

Midwestern Folk Americana band The Way Down Wanderers graced the Music Dealers office with a lively performance for April’s #MDSessions.

Professionally trained and youthfully creative, The Way Down Wanderers use banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar, upright bass, percussion – anything they can grab to get their audience stomping to the beat and singing along. Their lyrics balance poignant nostalgia with peaceful optimism, which is also reflected in their emotional ensemble of instrumentation.

Every attendee of the #MDSessions event kicked up their heels to the band’s crooning melodies. Even during their soundcheck, the office jumped to life and jittered our legs at our desks to their energetic folk tunes. Dreadlocks gently swinging and fingers frantically plucking, the band performed 11 songs onstage during their set, and followed up with one offstage song.

The Way Down Wanders are highly committed to their fanbase. In May, the band is playing ten shows across the Midwest and will embark on an ambitious 20-show tour westward in June, hitting cities in Utah, Nebraska, Colorado, and more.
