Chicago bands The Evening Attraction and Hemmingbirds continued the Summer Concert Series on July 9 with two snare-busting (literally) sets in the shadow of Chicago’s Building at the John Hancock Center’s outdoor plaza. The morning surrendered its moist gloom and gave way to an afternoon of sunny, blue skies last Thursday, providing an idyllic site for Chicagoans to celebrate the summer with some live music. The Evening Attraction stormed the stage at 5pm, opening their indie rock set with the punchy track, “Rumble.” The stringed harmony between frontman Miles Malin and guitarist Joey Abaroa lured both loyal fans and curious passerby to the plaza. The Evening Attraction's Live Set
At 6pm, indie pop band Hemmingbirds continued the show with a 10-song set, concluding with “My Love, Our Time is Now” from their album, The Vines of Age.
Hemmingbirds’ Live Set:
The Summer Concert Series will continue on Thursday, July 16, with live sets by indie rock band Tall Walker and blues rock band North by North, both of whom have been featured in the Chicago RedEye’s “15 Chicago Artists to Watch.” Sample their songs now and prepare for another afternoon of live music in the sun at #ChicagosBuilding, presented by HEARN and Music Dealers.
