The Summer Concert Series Presents: The Way Down Wanderers 139 words · 1 minute read

The crowd around the John Hancock Center plaza gathered early on Thursday, August 6 in anticipation of the weekly Summer Concert Series featuring local Chicago act, The Way Down Wanderers.

The band jogged onto the stage at 6pm, their dreadlocks tossing as they kicked off their performance with the energetic folk jam, “Path to Follow.” While they plucked away at the strings of their respective instruments, the three vocalists of the band – Austin, Collin, and Benjamin – harmonized to produce a single voice resonant with tender nostalgia. The set featured two songs from their recently released EP, “Wellspring,” during which drummer John Merikoswki and upright-bassist John Williams bellowed the lyrics merrily to each other over their instruments.
